Experiencing anxiety drove Joanne Pineau to try yoga by following along on TV.
In the days before the internet, she continued to learn through books and became self-taught in the discipline.
“It lowered my anxiety,” recalls Pineau, now a registered and trained yoga therapist teaching in Meaford. “I always carried yoga with me. When I feel better in my body, I feel better in my life. I feel more present.”
She started teaching yoga in 1997, continued with training and certification. And since 2006 she has been a yoga therapist, which includes study of physiology and anatomy.
