Private 1-on-1 Sessions
Low Back | Sciatica | Stenosis | Kyphosis
Posture Improvement | Chronic Pain
"I had been treated for Sciatica for almost eight months (physiotherapy, acupuncture, massage therapy, medications); all without much improvement. My physiotherapist asked me if I had heard of Yoga Therapy and suggested that I consider it.
At this point in time, I was desperate to try everything and anything and so I met Joanne. I started at Inner Journey by taking her session that was especially formatted to improve spinal health/sciatica and within two weeks, I started to feel significant improvement.
The exercises were explained fully and Joanne was a big motivator for me. I actually enjoyed practicing the stretches at home and if I had a question, she would explain it to me- again. I liked the classes so much that I continue to attend her other classes. She has a gentle touch and demeanor and is a very patient woman.
My only regret is that I did not find her sooner! Thank you Joanne." Jane Phair

How I Can Help
Over the last 22 years I have worked with many individuals who sought my help with one or more of the following conditions:
low back pain, arthritis, scoliosis, TMJ, plantar fasciatis, stenosis, sciatica, chronic pain, shoulder and neck injuries, limping, hip pain, bulging disc, posture, ihunch and kyphosis, fibromyalgia, recovery after shoulder, hip or knee surgery, posture improvement
I use somatic movements and a therapeutic approach to classic yoga exercises as a very effective form of neuro-muscular retraining that alleviates chronic pain and improves physical functioning and mobility.
This approach stands out from other forms of bodywork (acupuncture, massage, chiropractic) in that it relies upon your participation to provide sensory feedback, not just to muscles and nerves, but to the brain.
The course of treatment is often shorter and more long lasting than physical therapy programs, chiropractic or manual soft tissue therapies. However it can also be used to supplement the effectiveness of these programs and therapies.
